La fórmula de las canciones felices

Goldsmiths Psychology Lecturer, Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic,

has identified a mathematical formula for the perfect feel-good

song. Based on pitch, positive lyrics beats per minute, images

associated with the music and brain simulation, the 1990s tune

Wake up Boo by the Boo Radleys is most likely to raise listeners’

sprits. The formula is:

P + Pos + T + BMP + I + S P. P is pitch; Pos is the percentage of positive

lyrics; T is tonality; BMP is beats per minute. I is images associated with

the music and S is the level of serotonin.

Other feel-good songs include Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys and

I Want You Back by the Jackson Five.
